Gebhart (Mrs) - 1895

This has been a hard winter for old persons, and about six old ladies have died around here. Mrs. Gebhart died last week on the farm her husband bought from the government, mile and half northwest of Hillsboro. She was 84 years old and came here when the country was almost a wilderness. They planted an orchard in the woods and afterwards cleared away the brush, and the orchard was noted for years as the best in the country. – thanks so very much to “S” for all the typing
